There’s a lot for beer lovers to love in Mendocino. Hops were historically grown here – witness the name of Hopland – and the area has a rich history of artisan brewing and independent breweries. Both North Coast Brewing in Fort Bragg and Anderson Valley Brewing in Boonville are pioneers of the craft beer movement, and are also environmentally conscious. Anderson Valley Brewing uses solar power as much as possible and recycles the waste water from the brewing process to water their hop fields. North Coast Brewing produces several non-GMO brews and is Platinum Zero Waste Certified in addition to being a Certified B Corp. It’s nice to know that something that tastes so good comes from somewhere that does good, too.
Both breweries make a wide range of award-winning beers, with something to appeal to every palate. Whether you prefer a light ale or a rich stout, our local breweries have you covered. In addition to sampling these hand-made suds at the source, you can try them at many locations around the county, from classic bars and pubs to a historic seaside bar with one of the best views on the coast. It’s all here for you to enjoy. Cheers! Or as they say in Boonville, “Bahl hornin’!”
