Meyer Family Cellars

As the name suggests, Meyer Family Cellars is family owned and operated. Second generation winegrower Matt and his wife Karen combine their growing up around wine-making with advanced degrees in viticulture and enology, and most importantly, a passion for wine. Matt and Karen produce a wide range of wines, from cabernet sauvignon to chardonnay, and even a dessert port, an unusual specialty in this area.

Every family has a favorite, and at Meyer, it’s the Syrah

Nestled in the Yorkville Highlands, Meyer Family Cellars’ rustic, charming tasting room is draped in its own arbor and surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Inside the cozy wooden building, you’ll find friendly staff happy to guide you through their tasting selections. Try the Dry Rosé for a pink, strawberry-scented splash of summer. Or the rich, spicy (and delightfully named) Cabernet Fluffy Billows. You might prefer the fruit forward Cabernet Spitfire or the refreshing, peachy Chardonnay. There is something to please every palate at Meyer Family Cellars.

Every family has a favorite, and at Meyer, it’s the Syrah. The Yorkville Highlands Syrah is bold and complex, layered with berries and herbaceous notes. The High Ground Reserve Syrah is more intense, with spicy notes of pepper and a toasty oak finish.

There’s even something to please the kids and the dogs in your family at Meyer Family Cellars! There’s an outdoor play area with slides and swings, as well as a disc golf course and a bocce court. The whole family will enjoy a picnic in the pretty outdoor eating area, the picnic tables shaded by umbrellas and vines. There’s no better place to relax and enjoy the unique scenery of the Yorkville Highlands.

The Meyer family also has a second tasting room on Main Street in the village of Mendocino. It’s open daily from 12-5pm, call (707) 397-1406 for reservations.
