Tucked away near the foot of Redwood Avenue, you’ll find Piaci Pub & Pizzeria, a perennial local favorite. This popular spot is usually crowded and the atmosphere is genial, whether you are sitting family style at one of the larger tables or manage to snag one of the smaller tables along the hallway. Either way, you will be among friends, even if you haven’t met them yet.
The main draw here is the fresh, handmade thin crust pizza, perfectly blistered and airy. Toppings range from classics like Margherita and the New Yorker (pepperoni) to more adventurous fare, like the Gustoso, with pesto, goat cheese, prosciutto, and pears, or the Sicilian, made with sun-dried tomatoes, feta, caramelized onions, and olives. Gluten free crust is available, as are vegetarian and vegan options.
If you’d prefer a salad, you can choose from a classic Caprese, with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, or a spinach or Caesar salad. You can add smoked salmon or grilled chicken to any salad if you’re in the mood for something a little more substantial.
The bar boasts an impressive selection of craft beers, one of the best on the west coast, with an emphasis on local and Pacific Northwest brews. Styles range from lightest IPA to deepest stout, and many are both uniquely flavored and amusingly named, such as Mid Death Crisis Triple IPA, by Track 7, located in Sacramento, Grounds for Termination, a coffee stout by Santa Rosa’s Seismic Brewing, Horse Tongue Sour from Anderson Valley Brewing in Boonville, and the delightful Death and Taxes from Moonlight Brewing Company in Santa Rosa. The bottle list is even more esoteric and delightful, spanning a range of prices and rarities – if you’re looking for a $5 beer, they’ve got you covered; if you absolutely must have that $20 bottle of Delirium Tremens, you’re in luck. If you don’t know what to choose, staff is always ready to help you select the perfect pairing with your food order. Local and international wines and ciders are also available.
There are a couple of tables outside, where you and your canine companion can enjoy some people watching along with your excellent meal and beverage.
Note that Piaci Pizza accepts cash only. There is an ATM on the premises.
